In this beginners course, instructor Marcella Kriebel will explore the fundamentals of color theory in watercolor. Participants will have the opportunity to learn the essentials of mixing color and illuminating their own color wheel, understanding first hand how to make an array of hues in the color spectrum starting with primary colors. 

Marcella will demonstrate mixing paints and offer an expanded perspective and fundamental vocabulary relating to the basics of color theory, giving participants the agency to mix their own hues using watercolor.  

All materials are included.

Spring, is that You? Paint Spring Flowers Basics in Watercolor Workshop

Join Marcella Kriebel in an evening of painting at the Four One One

We'll cover the basics of watercolor and Marcella will share her approach to creating a simple watercolor composition. Marcella will share a series of her favorite watercolor techniques that build dimension and depth in paintings, using flowers as the subject matter.  Outlines of Marcella's flowers on watercolor paper will be provided for students, as well as blank watercolor paper. 

This class is designed for everyone, from beginning painters to more advanced.  

Skill Level: Beginner, intermediate, all levels are welcome.

Hire Marcella for a private watercolor event for your group! 

Marcella has facilitated her watercolor classes for team building sessions, a variety of corporate events and large groups. 

All classes can be taught in Person or via Zoom. The experience can be tailored to the client in terms of subject matter and size of the group. Marcella has facilitated classes ranging from 12 to 50 participants, and her approachable style to teaching watercolor allows people of all levels to learn the basics of watercolor and employ the techniques in their own paintings.  At minimum, the experience allows everyone to enjoy learning a new skill.

When teaching virtually, Marcella’s two camera viewpoint allows participants to receive instruction and while she demonstrates techniques up close, in real time. Materials can be shipped individually to each participant.

In person, Marcella has the ability to address questions and most often engage one on one with participants.
