A look back on 2024
When I reflect on the year, I am wowed by all that has happened. From new watercolors, to artist collaborations, and personal life events in Oregon and Washington, DC. I'm totally thankful for all the support along the way.
Created a BUNCH of New Art Prints
I created some solid new designs that we added to the Art Prints Collection in early spring including Cherry Tree Blossoms, Culinary Herbs plus more Cocktail Recipes like Paloma, The Last Word, and Aviation.
Released a new series of kitchen towels
These improved kitchen towels feature more than new art. We redesigned the towels focusing on the durability, color fastness and absorption. I'm super excited about them, and I'm so proud of our new package design too!
Sketched my way through Japan
In May I spent two weeks traveling in Japan, which was amazing! I loved the markets, the food, and generally, seeing the efficiency of the country (yes, the trains). I recorded some of my favorite approaches to keeping a travel sketchbook on the blog.
Installed the Dupont Circle Metro Mural
A project I started during Covid was installed and now spruces up of the construction walls of the Dupont Metro. On view until Fall 2025.,
Taught Some Cool Workshops
I always love sharing my skills and I had the chance to teach at the Smithsonian American Art Museum again. I also developed new classes including Watercolor Color Theory and Landscape sketching for small groups.
Participated in a record amount of Retail Events
Call me crazy, but we did seven holiday events, plus a pop up shop at Union Market in Jungle and Loom, and overall more business than we've ever managed before. We were more organized than ever as a team.
Participated in an Artist Residency at Milkwood Farm
For one glorious week I had to opportunity to stay in West Catskills of New York State at a retreat space for the picture book community at the dreamy, Milkwood Farm. I made progress on a couple book concepts alongside a group of extremely talented artist and writers and engaged in daily critiques. We ate great food, exchanged ideas and feedback, and soaked up the peaceful, pastoral surroundings on the grounds of a former dairy farm turned artist residency space. This experience offered me a whole new knowledge set and a wealth of inspiration in book illustration. I am so grateful for this week - a week of a lifetime!
Raised $5,800 for World Central Kitchen
I designed a piece to raise awareness about the tragedy of WCK aides that were killed while working in Gaza on the relief operation here. The design resonated so much, it became our calendar for the year.
100% of the Profits from the project go to World Central Kitchen. This is the 13th year in a row where the calendar is a fundraiser for a 501c3. We will continue to donate, until all calendars are sold out.
Went on the Today Show for Small Business Saturday
Being on national TV is quite a ride! It was a first for me involving a super early morning pick up, having my makeup done by a professional team, and bright lights!

Bought a house, got married, baby on the way!
Christopher and I managed to do all this big life stuff in one year. It all just worked out that way. We're looking forward to everything to come...specifically a baby boy due in June 2025!
