A Juicy Collaboration with Spindrift 🍓🥭🍊

At the end of last year, I had the amazing opportunity to illustrate over 40 fruits in watercolor for the sparkling water company, Spindrift. The turnaround was pretty swift, and I stayed laser-focused—and completed over 70 illustrations for the company, just before our busy holiday festival season in 2024.

If there’s any theme I could happily dive deep into, it’s fruit. It’s something I feel completely confident and passionate about illustrating. For each fruit, I created 8 to 12 unique illustrations—think passionfruit, guava, mango, strawberry, and even Yuzu! (a favorite Japanese citrus.)

One special request that made this project stand out: I was asked to not use a micron pen to define contours or textures of each illustration. So, instead of my usual graphic style, I went ful on watercolor. I lightly sketched each fruit in pencil, gently erased most of the lines, and relied purely on the range of value in watercolor to bring each piece to life. It was a refreshing challenge and a beautiful departure from my norm.

You can now find my artwork on the cardboard case packaging of Spindrift products (not on the individual cans—just the outer packaging). The creative agency Colony, based in Los Angeles, handled the digital layout and packaging design. I sent them my watercolor files, and they worked their magic positioning the art around the text.

I invite you to swing by your local grocery store (wherever Spindrift is sold!) and check out the selection—there are 24 different flavors at this point! I haven’t even seen them all myself, so if you spot one, I’d love to see it! Snap a pic, and tag me on Instagram or shoot me an email. 🍉✨

Thanks for reading— cheers! (raising my spindrift can to you!)
