Small Batch, People and Recipes from Around DC is true to its name, this illustrated collection is tiny. This wire bound book is comprised of 13 recipes from writers, makers, chefs, artists, and artisans, all in the DC area. (Think of it as a cross between a spiral-bound community cookbook and a collection of recipes by your favorite food-world friends.)
Featuring recipes from: Sara Hernández; Danny and Johnny Dubanneh; Davon Pulliam; Caitlin and Yi Wah Roberts; Stephanie Holliman; Joahna Hernandez; Rahul Vinod and Sahil Rahman; Amjaad Al-Hussain; and Tyler French, plus Marcella and Kara.
About the authors: Marcella is a cookbook author and illustrator; Kara is a food writer and recipe developer. Although they're both from the Pacific Northwest, they've called DC home for about a decade. This is their first project together.
This gorgeously illustrated cookbook of international recipes from DC artists was such a delight to discover. I bought 3 - one for myself, one for a friend still in DC and one as gift in a virtual White Elephant with friends who used to live in the city but have now relocated across the US and Central America. This cookbook was the most popular item in the white elephant exchange! I'm thrilled to have it in my cookbook collection and look forward to exploring the recipes in the new year!
So glad Marcella created this special Small Batch highlighting DC chefs. Had fun giving them to friends.
